Communities use Squad for three main reasons:
(1) to have a central place to host all of their events
(2) to allow community members to organize into sub groups (called “Squads”)
(3) to amplify true connection by allowing members to create their own opportunities to meet up via range of events from small get togethers (called “quick hangs”) to bigger events.
Omg, of course not! Users can be part of multiple communities from their workplace to their fitness studio to their place of worship.
Squad’s purpose is to bring online communities offline, at scale - and in a way that emphasizes the ability to build real connections with the other people. Beyond the transactional ability for a user to sign up for an event, Squad’s platform enables true bottom-up community building by:
(1) allowing anyone in a community to create and event or squad
(2) the ability to create events of any duration from “quick hangs” to larger events
(3) providing users the ability to join and engage in multiple communities in an easy, consolidated fashion.
It’s so easy, we don’t even need to tell you! Just click on the “create” button in the top panel and select “event.” Just fill out your event’s information from there.
Unlike many other platforms, where only the “organizer” or “creator” has the authority to create an event, the Squad platform acts like a real community - one where anyone can create an event. The burden of keeping the community going isn’t completely on you!
So many ways! Once created, all events are automatically populated on the event page of your community as well as every community members’ home feed. You can share with members via the “share” button underneath your event in addition to the share copy link provided upon event creation. Lastly, we integrate with all calendar systems (iCal, Outlook, Gmail) and Slack to increase visibility and sign ups around your event.
Yep, just share the event link!
You can send notifications to event attendees via email or Slack. You can also communicate with attendees via the platform through the ‘send email’ function, commenting (@ mentioning), and a few other mechanisms.
A community hosts squads, you can think of these as subgroups based on interests or some type of mutual factor. For example, if you have a Yoga community, the Squads within the community might include (a) Vinyasa Lovers, (b) Bikram Gurus, (c) Hip Hop Yogis, (d) Beginners Squad, etc…
“Squads” allow users to have a deeply personalized experience within their community, build more meaningful relationships within their respective communities, and enable the community admin (you) to facilitate those processes. Being a part of squads that share your specific interests allow you to meaningfully connect with others at a deeper level and experience more tailored experiences specific to your Squads.
Uh, as many as they want - Squads are meant to reflect all your interests, no matter how many!
